This was an extensive outdoor renovation covering the front balcony, the entire rear balcony, and the upstairs granny flat balcony. We also redesigned the backyard and replaced the boundary fence. The site was a mess when we started, but we worked with existing features — including an old curved retaining wall built for a removed pool — and integrated the new deck into this space. The result was a well-zoned, liveable backyard perfect for everyday use. A big transformation.

The client needed a complete rework of the pool surrounds, replacing old paving with something more refined. We built a brand-new deck using Spotted Gum decking boards, installed flush with the pool coping for a seamless, high-end look. The natural timber really lifted the whole space, and the client was over the moon with the result.

The original deck was dangerously deteriorated — it was beginning to pull the house downhill and was causing structural issues. We quickly removed the old deck and salvaged what we could, recycling some hardwood beams. The underframe was rebuilt using galvanised C-section steel and steel posts for longevity. We installed brand-new EPS roofing panels with integrated lighting, giving the space comfort and functionality. A major rescue project with an excellent result.

This was a complex job involving a suspended balcony over a new pergola. The original deck was too low, making it hard for the elderly clients to safely access the outdoor area. We completely rebuilt the deck using wide-board Spotted Gum and raised the structure to be flush with the internal floor level — creating safe, seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The upper balcony required heavy engineering — we sleeved steel beams into the home and suspended the balcony over EPS-insulated roofing panels. We also reused the client’s original balustrades and simplified the layout below to create an open, spacious living zone. A beautifully finished result with longevity and care in mind.

This job was particularly challenging due to the steep hillside. The existing deck was large but failing, with many rotted beams. We jacked the entire structure up to re-level it and added an extra 20m² of decking. We excavated and replaced a paved section and upgraded the plumbing to allow for a new layout. Once prepped, we installed composite decking boards for durability and clean aesthetics, and finished with aluminium balustrades that tied into the home’s updated style.
